Share the characteristics and features of four cooling fans
According to the different flow directions of the fans, the fans are divided into four categories:
1, axial flow cooing fan
The blades of an axial fan cause air to flow in the same direction (parallel) as the shaft.
The impeller of the axial flow fan is somewhat similar to the propeller, when it is working, the flow of most of the air is parallel to the axis, in other words, along the axis.
Axial fans have the lowest power consumption when the inlet airflow is free air of 0 static pressure.
When running, the power consumption also increases with the increase of the airflow back pressure.
The axial fan is usually installed in the cabinet of electronic and electrical equipment, and can also be integrated with the motor. The compact structure of the axial fan can save a lot of space, and it is easy to set up, so it is widely used.
The square cooling fans seen on the market can basically be classified as such.
The main features of axial fan are: high flow rate, medium wind pressure, and heat dissipation in ordinary environment
2, mixed flow cooling fan
Mixed flow fans are also called oblique flow fans.
There is no difference in appearance between the mixed-flow fan and the axial flow fan.
In fact, the inlet of the mixed flow fan is along the axis, and the outlet is along the diagonal direction of the axis and the vertical axis.
The blades and covers of this fan are called conical, so the wind pressure is high, and the noise of the centrifugal fan is lower than that of the axial flow fan in terms of the same size and other comparative performance.
The main feature of the mixed flow fan is to achieve better heat dissipation under high flow rate and relatively high wind pressure
3, centrifugal cooing fan
When a centrifugal fan works, the blade causes air to flow in a direction perpendicular to the shaft, with the suction along the shaft but the exhaust perpendicular to the shaft.
In many cases, the cooling effect can be obtained using an axial fan, but if the air flow needs to be rotated 90 degrees out, or if high wind pressure is required, a centrifugal fan may need to be selected.
Fans, strictly speaking, are also classified as centrifugal fans.
The image of this centrifugal fan is a small centrifugal fan, we generally use a multi-wing centrifugal fan, mostly used for machinery, the appearance is different, but the principle is the same.
The key characteristics of centrifugal fans: change the inflow of wind, compare the current flow rate, high air pressure
4, cross flow fan
Cross-flow fans, called cross-flow fans, can cause large-scale air flow and are generally used to cool the wide surface of the equipment.
The intake and exhaust of the fan are perpendicular to the axis.
The cross-flow fan uses a relatively long cylindrical fan impeller to work, and the cylindrical fan impeller has a large diameter and a large diameter, so on the basis of ensuring the overall air circulation, the use of a relatively low speed can reduce the noise caused by high-speed operation.
Used in elevators, air conditioners, cars, etc.
The main characteristics of the cross flow: low velocity, low wind pressure, large heat dissipation area
